Family Research Council believes prostitution is a violation of human dignity that treats women and men as objects of pleasure and commodities to be bought and sold. The overwhelming majority of those involved in prostitution do so not by choice—they either sell themselves out of financial desperation or are victims of sex trafficking and therefore forced into it. We strongly oppose attempts to legitimize prostitution as “sex work.” Legitimizing prostitution only succeeds in protecting buyers and exploiters, not the human beings being exploited.
