Family Research Council

Children

Family Research Council believes that the primary responsibility and authority over a child’s moral upbringing, discipline, education, and health care lies with the child’s biological or adoptive parent or legal guardian. We affirm that children belong first to their parents and families, not to their communities or governments. Government should minimize its interference with the exercise of parental authority, except in cases of demonstrable abuse or neglect.
